Unidentified gunmen have reportedly killed at least six farmers of Tiv ethnicity in the Kadarko Community of Keana Local Government Area, Nasarawa State.

The incident adds to the ongoing violence that has displaced thousands of Tiv farmers in the southern part of the state, due to persistent attacks on their homes and farmlands by suspected herdsmen.

Investigations reveal that three victims were hacked to death while working on a farmland on Saturday afternoon, while the remaining three were shot on Sunday morning by the gunmen.

A resident of Keana LGA confirmed the attacks, stating that the Sunday incident occurred around the Railway axis of the community.

According to an anonymous source,

?A group of armed men invaded a disputed farmland where the three persons were working and killed them. They killed the farmers and fled before the arrival of security operatives.?

Expressing concern over the escalating violence, the source highlighted ongoing oppression faced by the community, particularly from suspected herdsmen encroaching on their lands.

The source urged Governor Abdullahi Sule to collaborate with security agencies to investigate issues of land grabbing and threats from gunmen in the southern part of the state, ensuring the safety of residents and enabling them to carry out daily activities without fear of attack.
